Hi Greg- you can see the reason behind this project at the ‘my project’ link at the top of the page; I also have some time-lapse videos of me doing a few of these drawings at http://www.youtube.com/user/artboy68TV/videos . Otherwise, I start with a light line sketch until I feel the features are placed correctly and are the right proportion, then I simply start filling in the darkest tones & shadows first, working my way to the subtlest variations in tone- there is usually some adjustment as I go along. Thanks for asking!
Ha! I just watched a couple of the videos Scott and it really brings it home how fine the work is and how difficult because you are working almost in minature with little room for error. Great job !
